VISI Flow - Model Preparation & Meshing Tools

VISI is a unique solution for the molding industry combining the ability to design the component, analyze the geometry, make part or mold changes (without the need to constantly switch between CAD and analysis system) and analyze the effect on the mold before production. A new molding assistant menu provides tools to validate the mold design through preliminary flow analyses. Analyze Runners automatically analyses 3D mold plates and generates a mesh on the runner diameters; Draw Coolant Path automatically analyses 3D mold plates and defines the path where the coolant flows. This allows the user to run multiple comparative analyses in order to evaluate how changes in the feeding or cooling system can affect the cycle and the final part quality.

VISI16 also sees the introduction of a new meshing algorithm with automatic thickness calculations and the ability to define different meshing parameters for different geometry areas. For example, fine meshing parameters for critical areas and more coarse parameters for larger details (mold plates).

Welding Lines & Air Traps
Flow V16 automatically identifies the welding lines and air trap position. The detection is based on characteristics of the meeting nodes of flow fronts : the affecting factors of weld lines and air traps are considered in detail – the orientation coefficient of the material, the meeting angle and the melt mobility history coefficient.
